Pot odds calculator

Work out the pot odds you are being offered on a call, and the minimum equity your hand needs for that call to break even. The maths runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type is sent or stored.

Methodology

Pot odds compare what the pot offers against what a call costs, the standard ratio described in the cited glossary. The break-even equity restates the same ratio as the share of the final pot your call puts in.

  • Pot odds (X-to-1) = (pot + bet) ÷ bet.
  • Break-even equity (%) = bet ÷ (pot + bet + bet) × 100.
  • The cited glossary example — 100 in the pot, a bet of 10 — gives 11-to-1, the reference assertion of this module's test suite.
  • This is an arithmetic identity, not strategy advice.

This calculator states an arithmetic relationship, not advice on how to play a hand or whether to gamble. Real decisions also depend on implied odds, position and stack depth, which no single ratio captures. Play only where it is legal for you, and only with money you can afford to lose.
