Cearrbhachais na hÉireann, to license and regulate betting, gaming, certain lotteries and the sale or supply of gambling-related products and services. The Authority is funded by a charge on licensees and maintains both a register of gambling licensees and a National Gambling Exclusion Register. The Act also creates a Social Impact Fund for research and awareness on excessive gambling, imposes duties on licensees covering advertising, inducements and sponsorship, bars children from gambling and from employment in the industry, and repeals gambling statutes reaching back to 1744.
