iGaming Ontario
Ontario separates who regulates its online gambling market from who conducts it.

iGaming Ontario was established in July 2021 as a subsidiary of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, a separate legal entity that conducts and manages internet gaming offered through private operators as Canada's Criminal Code requires, and that signs operating agreements with those operators. The Act bearing its name was proclaimed on 12 May 2025, making it an independent agency. Operators and suppliers are registered by the AGCO and must meet the Registrar's Standards for Internet Gaming, in force since the market opened on 4 April 2022.
