Re-entry
Under the standardised TDA tournament rules, a re-entry is treated like a fresh entry: re-entrants are sold full starting stacks and randomly draw a
table and seat from the same pool as new players, and are dealt in except between the small blind and the button. In re-entry events where a player is permitted to forfeit chips and buy a new stack, the forfeited chips are removed from play rather than left in circulation. This differs from the re-buy, which the same rule set handles at the seat: re-buying players may not miss a hand, and a declared intent to re-buy before a hand plays the chips behind and makes the re-buy compulsory. The provisions cited are the 2024 TDA rules; nothing beyond that rule set is established by the source.
